Snowflake Nails

Hello! :)

I've mentioned a few times that I love cold weather and snow. When it snows I look forward to wearing warm plush slippers, being wrapped up in a blanket on the couch with a good view of the window so that I can watch the snow fall while sipping hot tea with the company of a good book. I also look forward to going outside and throwing a few snowballs. ;)

This past Sunday morning I opened my blinds and was surprised to see that it was snowing. It snowed moderately for a few hours and then it eventually stopped. I was hoping that it would accumulate, but it only stuck to the trees. Regardless, I  was happy to see some real winter precipitation and I'm hoping for a generous snowfall before winter ends. (Enough snow to get class cancelled ;) ).

I decided to do nails that were inspired by this weekends snowfall. Okay, I feel like I have to have a disclaimer here: I do not like the final outcome of these nails. I've gotten complements on them, but I'm still not trilled with them. Seche Vite shrunk this mani like crazy and I wanted the snowflakes to be more prominent. Something about it looks lumpy to me. Seche Vite didn't entirely smooth out the glitter. >:(

See what I mean!? It looks lumpy! >:( Im soooo disappointed because it looked so epic in my head! I actually pouted a bit when I finished doing this. Oh well. I did this on Sunday and will be removing it today because it's driving me crazy. I wanted to get at least a couple days wear out of this so that I feel like I didn't waste my time. What do you guys think? Am I being too dramatic? haha

What I used:
- China Glaze Sea Spray
- China Glaze Snow Globe
- Color Club Luminescent (for snowflake stamp)

That's all for now and thanks for stopping by an reading! <3

  2. This is nice! Ahh Sèche Vite and shrinkage...I could write a book about that problem! If you don't want to go through the hassle of layering, China Glaze's Luna is a great snowflake-y polish.

    1. Thank you! :) I used to be really patient with Seche, but now it's driving me nuts. I'll use the rest of my bottle though because I paid for it, but after its gone, I won't be buying it again. Luna would be great for a mani like this! :)

  3. I'm sorry you didn't end up liking your mani! I bet Snow Globe would look awesome if you made a "jelly sandwich" with it. and don't worry, you are not being too dramatic, I have been known to throw mild fits over my messed up manicures! Hahaha

    1. While I was applying Snow Globe I actually though the same thing! haha. And I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who gets extra dramatic lol.

  4. Hmm, I think maybe it would have looked better without the snowflake? But I think it's really pretty!

    1. I was thinking the same thing, that I probably should have left out the snowflake. I think it's making it look "cluttered." And thank you! :)

  5. While I do not like snow, I do like your mani. I think it looks really pretty. Sorry it didn't come out the way you wanted it to. I know that's a frustrating feeling. But I still like it ;0)

    1. Thank you! :D I actually decided to keep it on until Thursday, partially because repainting them would be an excuse to procrastinate on doing my school work haha.

  6. I like bumpy glitter! Not all glitter needs to be smooth. However, I see what you mean! Seche has a good and a bad side so I usually try to avoid it! It has ruined a few of my manis!

    1. I think that after I finish the bottle of Seche that I have, I'm not going to buy it again. It's not worth the hassle to me anymore.

  7. I hate when I have this great idea in my head and it fails on the nail! This is still very pretty!
